Session Description:
The Visible Ops methodology was developed after studying the common practices of top performing IT organizations, to answer the question: "I believe in the need for IT process improvement, but where do I start?" This one-day workshop is based on the popular Visible Ops™ handbook, and research conducted by the IT Process Institute. It is designed to jumpstart the implementation of controls and process improvement in IT organizations in order to increase service levels, decrease costs, increase security and auditability. The Visible Ops seminar will be delivered in four prescriptive and self-fueling steps to take an organization from any starting point to a continually improving controlled process. Each step will include a review of benchmark data collected from over 300 companies that helps illustrate the benefits of activities recommended in that step. This workshop will provide useful guidance and a prescriptive roadmap for organizations beginning or continuing their IT process improvement journey.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Control risky changes and reduce mean time to repair by addressing how changes are managed and how problems are resolved.
  • Identify infrastructure, configurations and services with the lowest change success rates, highest failure rate, and highest business downtime costs.
  • Implement effective release management processes.
  • Enable continuous improvement by creating metrics that measure all process areas, ensuring that business objectives are met.
  • This workshop is ideal for:
IT professionals starting or enhancing IT process improvement efforts and are interested in understanding the internal workings of top performing organizations.
